This is a Golden Milk smoothie for those of us who DON’T like Golden Milk but most definitely want the benefits!
About a year ago, my doctor suggested pure organic turmeric. I traveled a couple of hours away and found the turmeric. I cleared them out and stashed it all in a dark cabinet. Where it stayed! I could not for the life of me find a way to eat it that was enjoyable.
Thanks to the ease of a Vitamix, I was able to master the art of disguising turmeric enough to enjoy a morning smoothie with skin benefits galore!
Turmeric (Start out with 1/2 a tsp and work your way up to 1 tsp)
Turmeric may be the most effective nutritional supplement in existence.
Anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties. Turmeric may be an effective treatment for a variety of skin conditions, including acne, eczema (atopic dermatitis), photoaging, and psoriasis.
Bananas are rich in vitamin A, B and E and work as an anti-aging agent.
One medium-sized banana provides approximately 13% of your daily manganese needs. Manganese helps your body make collagen and protects your skin and other cells against free radical damage.
Mango (1 cup) preferably frozen:
Rich in vitamin-A and antioxidants, it fights against skin aging, regenerates skin cells and restores the elasticity of the skin.
Plain Kefir 1 cup:
Great for slowing down aging, inflammation, eczema, acne, rosacea and psoriasis.
Kefir boosts your body’s immunity, improves allergies and supports digestion. It helps combat problems like leaky gut and irritable bowel syndrome.
Skin can often be the first thing to show signs of poor health when the body is internally out of balance. By restoring the natural balance of your gut with probiotics and living food, people often find that many skin disorders like acne, eczema and rosacea diminish and even go away entirely after an increased intake of probiotics.
1/4 cup Pineapple:
Pineapple contains Vitamin C and beta carotene. These antioxidants help overall skin texture, reduce wrinkles and minimize skin damage from sun and pollution exposure. Vitamin C also helps build collagen giving your skin strength and structure.
Let me know if you try it! Enjoy!
