I’m not huge on DIY skincare but, honey is a different story.
CAUTION: This could be a problem for some if you’re sensitive to pollen, honey, and bee venom.
You want the UMF to be around 15 or higher. UMF stands for Unique Manuka Factor. UMF is a quality mark identifying natural unadulterated manuka honey produced in New Zealand that has the special natural property found only in some strains of manuka honey.
Manuka honey and Royal Jelly/propolis are great for acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, and those with congestion and blackheads. Use it gently, at most, every other day.
Manuka honey is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, a humectant and supports wound healing. Sometimes your local beekeeper will have lush unfiltered honey to coax tired skin back to plump life.
The honey has to be sticky on your face, not mixed with any water (if you must, be sure it’s a tiny amount). Simply press your hands against your honey’d face and lift it up a little bit, then repeat very quickly. Imagine a thousand fingers tapping on your skin rapidly, but gently.
Rinse, and carry on 🐝
